The Software I&T Engineer joins the Amazon Leo for Government Engineering Integrated Systems Solutions team to develop software tooling and frameworks for integration testing within system lab environments. This role focuses on space-based and terrestrial applications, specifically supporting a Low Earth Orbit interconnected satellite communication constellation. You will architect and deliver reusable test platforms, automation frameworks, and lab infrastructure software to accelerate the verification of complex hardware and software systems. Key responsibilities include owning test automation frameworks, orchestration platforms, and CI/CD-integrated tooling for hardware-in-the-loop environments. You will utilize C#, C++, Java, or Perl to build test algorithms, scripts, and data visualization tools. The role requires expertise in Object Oriented Design, infrastructure-as-code, and software development practices to solve complex verification and validation challenges for government and international customers.
Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and CI/CD-integrated tooling for hardware-in-the-loop environments.
Architect and validate software tooling including test algorithms, scripts, calibration routines, and data visualization.
Define best practices for automation, observability, and infrastructure-as-code across the lab engineering organization.
Analyze test data to evaluate product performance and provide proactive feedback to partners and customers.
Document test results, coverage, and performance metrics while communicating issues to developers and managers.
Debug, root-cause, and resolve test anomalies and defects in high-rate production environments.
Identify gaps in test infrastructure and implement solutions with a focus on long-term maintainability.
Mentor junior engineers on software development practices, code quality, and test automation design patterns.
What we're looking for
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance of TS/SCI.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
