Software I&T Engineer , Amazon Leo for Government works within the Amazon Leo for Government Engineering team to develop solutions for space-based and terrestrial applications. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and systems verification, where you will design, develop, and own software tooling and frameworks that enable integration testing in system lab environments. You will architect reusable test platforms, automation frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code to accelerate the verification of complex hardware and software systems. Key responsibilities include developing CI/CD-integrated tools, creating test algorithms and data visualization scripts, and managing test anomalies in high-rate production environments. The role requires proficiency in C#, C++, Java, or Perl, along with experience in Object Oriented Design. This position addresses the technical challenge of providing seamless communication capabilities through a low Earth orbit satellite constellation for government customers.
Design and develop test automation frameworks and CI/CD integrated tooling for hardware-in-the-loop environments.
Architect software tools including test algorithms, scripts, calibration routines, and data visualization for complex systems.
Establish best practices for infrastructure-as-code, automation patterns, and observability across the lab engineering organization.
Analyze test data to evaluate product performance and provide proactive feedback to partners and customers.
Manage and resolve test anomalies, defects, and bugs by performing root-cause analysis in production environments.
Identify gaps in test infrastructure and implement technical solutions while balancing speed and maintainability.
Mentor junior engineers on software development practices, code quality, and automation design patterns.
Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to ensure tooling supports all phases of satellite and ground element verification.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
1+ years of experience as a software development engineer or in a related occupation.
1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
