The Software I&T Engineer joins the Amazon Leo for Government Integrated Engineering Solutions team to develop software tooling and frameworks for integration testing within system lab environments. This role focuses on space-based and terrestrial applications, specifically supporting a Low Earth Orbit interconnected satellite communication constellation. You will architect and deliver reusable test platforms, automation frameworks, and lab infrastructure software to accelerate the verification of complex hardware and software systems. Key responsibilities include owning test automation frameworks, orchestration platforms, and CI/CD-integrated tooling for hardware-in-the-loop environments. You will utilize C#, C++, Java, or Perl to design test algorithms, scripts, and data visualization tools. The role requires expertise in Object Oriented Design, infrastructure-as-code, and managing test anomalies to ensure seamless communication capabilities for government and international customers.
Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and orchestration platforms for hardware-in-the-loop and system lab environments.
Architect and validate software tooling including test algorithms, scripts, calibration routines, and data visualization for complex hardware systems.
Define and drive best practices for automation, observability, and infrastructure-as-code across the lab engineering organization.
Analyze test data and provide proactive feedback on product performance to teammates, partners, and customers.
Prepare reports documenting test results, coverage, performance metrics, and other key performance indicators.
Debug, root-cause, and resolve test anomalies, defects, and bugs in high-rate production environments.
Identify gaps in test infrastructure and propose solutions while balancing speed with long-term maintainability.
Mentor junior engineers on software development practices, code quality, and test automation design patterns.
What we're looking for
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance of TS/SCI.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
