Surface MCP - OT Systems Lead provides technical leadership for Operational Technology (OT) and Process Control Network (PCN) solutions supporting major capital projects. The role involves designing, integrating, securing, and delivering industrial control systems, process control networks, industrial communications, edge computing, and IIoT technologies across the project lifecycle. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, telecommunications, IT, and various vendors to ensure technical designs meet business requirements during planning, procurement, testing, and commissioning. Key responsibilities include developing modernization strategies for brownfield and greenfield environments while ensuring secure-by-design principles are integrated into infrastructure. Required expertise includes DCS, PLC, and SIS platforms, network segmentation concepts, and industrial cybersecurity frameworks like ISA/IEC 62443. This position solves complex technical challenges in the energy sector by managing risks and providing expert guidance on reliable project execution and transition-to-operations planning.
Lead the development and delivery of Operational Technology (OT) solutions for major capital projects.
Provide technical leadership for industrial control systems, process control networks, and IIoT technologies.
Establish and maintain OT architecture standards, integration requirements, and technical governance across project activities.
Review and influence technical designs during planning, engineering, procurement, testing, and commissioning phases.
Integrate control systems, historians, telecommunications, and vendor packages into the broader OT environment.
Develop modernization, upgrade, and lifecycle strategies for both brownfield and greenfield industrial environments.
Incorporate cybersecurity considerations throughout design, implementation, and operational readiness activities.
Manage technical risks and provide mitigation strategies to ensure safe and reliable project execution.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience leading Operational Technology, Industrial Automation, Process Control Networks, or related disciplines in industrial or energy environments.
Experience supporting large capital projects through design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and startup phases.
Strong knowledge of industrial control systems such as DCS, PLC, and SIS platforms.
Experience with Process Control Networks (PCN), network segmentation concepts, and OT infrastructure.
Understanding of industrial cybersecurity principles and secure-by-design approaches.
Advanced English proficiency and strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in oil and gas, energy, chemicals, or manufacturing sectors; ISA/IEC 62443 frameworks; edge computing; IIoT; and brownfield modernization (preferred).
