As a Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer - OT Integration, you will join the Operations Technology team as a forward-deployed engineer embedded with manufacturing users to define requirements and build AI-native solutions. You will own the architecture and implementation of the industrial connectivity layer linking manufacturing equipment to business systems. Your daily work involves defining how machine data is collected, secured, and utilized across sites while establishing standards for OT-to-IT integration. You will manage technical evaluations for connected-factory initiatives and oversee vendor governance. The role requires expertise in PLC, HMI, SCADA platforms, historians, and industrial networks using protocols like OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, and Profinet. You will utilize Python, C#, JavaScript, and SQL to develop data pipelines and integration services while ensuring secure, segmented environments for manufacturing data across MES, ERP, and cloud analytics platforms.
Own the architecture and implementation of the industrial connectivity layer linking manufacturing equipment to business systems.
Define scalable OT-to-IT integration patterns using protocols like OPC UA, MQTT, APIs, and SQL.
Establish standards for site-level machine connectivity, Unified Namespace patterns, and data lifecycle management.
Design data pipelines to connect machine information with MES, ERP, CMMS, and PLM platforms.
Lead the technical evaluation and scale-out plan for connected-factory initiatives and vendor integrations.
Develop integration services, APIs, and automation scripts using Python, C#, or JavaScript to process industrial data.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to design segmented, secure OT environments that meet corporate security requirements.
What we're looking for
U.S. citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or related field) plus 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of experience.
Hands-on experience with industrial automation and operational technology in a production manufacturing environment.
Experience integrating PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, historians, and sensors with MES, ERP, cloud, or analytics platforms.
Working knowledge of OPC UA, MQTT, and protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, or EtherNet/IP.
Experience with industrial networking, OT cybersecurity, and segmentation across IT and OT boundaries.
Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language like Python, C#, or JavaScript for integration work.
Strong communication skills to explain technical architecture and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
