TL;DR · Supplier Industrialization Engineer, PCB

The Supplier Industrialization Engineer, PCB (Starlink) joins a cross-functional team to ensure the continuity of supply for printed circuit boards within the Starlink program. This role involves managing suppliers to support the development and production flow of satellites and gateways. Key responsibilities include identifying and onboarding new suppliers, implementing production part approval processes, auditing manufacturing processes, and driving root cause failure analysis to resolve quality issues. The engineer will collaborate with internal design, R&D, and procurement teams while providing technical support to external partners to improve yields and reduce costs. Required expertise includes experience with PCBs, engineering laminates, and microelectronics fabrication. Preferred skills include knowledge of high-speed/RF applications, supplier quality processes like PPAP and APQP, statistical techniques such as SPC and Six Sigma, and familiarity with ISO 9000 or AS9100 standards.

What you'll do

  • Manage the continuity of supply for printed circuit boards (PCBs) on the Starlink program.
  • Identify, audit, and onboard new suppliers to support production growth.
  • Develop and implement supplier technical requirements and quality flow downs for hardware manufacturing.
  • Execute and monitor the production part approval process (PPAP) with selected suppliers.
  • Drive supplier root cause failure analysis and corrective actions for quality gaps or defects.
  • Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to identify trends and develop improvement plans.
  • Oversee supplier statistical process control, yield improvements, and new tool qualifications.
  • Provide technical feedback to suppliers to reduce costs, cycle times, and manufacturing risks.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience with printed circuit boards (PCBs), engineering laminates, electrochemical processes, or microelectronics fabrication.
  • Advanced degree in engineering, business, or supply chain is preferred.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, preferably for high-speed or RF applications.
  • Working knowledge of supplier quality processes such as PPAP, APQP, FAIR, RCCA, and lean methods.
  • Knowledge of quality systems including ISO 9000, TS, AS9100, or NADCAP.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques such as SPC, design of experiments, or Six Sigma.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for required export control authorizations.
