What you'll do

  • Provide construction support for both pipe and structural welding projects.
  • Perform welding procedure qualification efforts and review vendor qualifications for Navy compliance.
  • Conduct failure analysis and material verification tasks.
  • Execute research and development testing, including creating procedures and overseeing lab tests.
  • Perform engineering analysis of novel composite components and develop related specifications.
  • Develop repair procedures for damaged composite components.
  • Conduct literature reviews to support the development of new technologies.
  • Manage database development and track specification histories.

What we're looking for

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Must pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
  • Must be enrolled full-time in a college or university.
  • Must have completed at least one year of college before the start of the internship.
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week for at least eight consecutive weeks during Summer 2027.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in an engineering, physics, or environmental science field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Office).
