Staff Software Engineer, Server Networking Security (Rust)

What you'll do

• Define and drive the technical strategy for Ingress Security in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Design, implement, and operate production-ready security services using Rust with a focus on performance and correctness.
• Execute technical plans to solve ambiguous, high-impact security and networking problems.
• Manage time-sensitive escalations and provide expert support during production incidents.
• Diagnose and fix bugs, performance regressions, and other defects in existing codebases.
• Mentor team members and conduct interviews to cultivate the engineering talent bench.
• Advise the organization on engineering complexity, risk management, and inter-project dependencies.

What we're looking for

• Must have 10+ years of experience building production-quality systems software with large user bases and robust design structures.
• Experience with large backend or compiled codebases, preferably in Rust.
• Strong systems fundamentals including multi-threaded programming and performance profiling.
• Knowledge of network protocols, TLS, and connection lifecycle management is preferred.
• Familiarity with security concepts such as attack surface reduction, input validation, and memory safety is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills for diverse audiences ranging from engineers to executives.
• Strong mentorship skills and ability to coach and provide feedback to peers.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience with data structures and algorithms.
