Staff Engineer, Observability

What you'll do

• Design and implement mission-critical observability systems for performance, scalability, and resiliency.
• Lead architecture and implementation of components to enable quick diagnosis of production issues.
• Handle customer escalations and mentor team members in resolving technical issues.
• Write high-quality database code and ensure it meets security, durability, availability standards.
• Investigate and mitigate software performance regressions caused by code changes.
• Develop expertise on cutting-edge database and observability advancements for product roadmaps.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 10 years of experience in designing, programming, debugging, and tuning distributed and/or highly concurrent mission-critical software systems.
• Strong expertise in multi-threaded programming, performance profiling, and expert-level programming skills.
• Familiarity with the observability ecosystem and best practices for monitoring and alerting.
• Experience running latency-sensitive, high-throughput systems with strict SLOs on security, durability, availability, and performance.
• Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills, including mentoring engineers and collaborating across teams.
• Understanding of information security management principles and practices.
• Leadership experience in setting direction and providing technical guidance for large engineering teams.
