Security Software Engineer, Infrastructure Security (Staff or Senior)

What you'll do

• Design and build core security primitives for MongoDB Atlas across multiple cloud platforms.
• Develop secure-by-default infrastructure using Linux mechanisms to enforce runtime policies.
• Create APIs and automation tools to manage security posture at scale and integrate monitoring pipelines.
• Integrate security into CI/CD workflows to ensure versioned, reviewed, and deployed controls.
• Lead complex security projects from design through implementation and long-term maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define secure architectures for new infrastructure and services.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or site reliability engineering with security focus.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Deep understanding of Linux and networking concepts for complex system integration.
• Experience building security-related features such as runtime monitoring, CSPM, and vulnerability management.
• Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes and its security ecosystem including RBAC, OPA/Gatekeeper, Kyverno, eBPF, Falco, Tetragon.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical security concepts to various stakeholders.
