What you'll do

Develop high-quality, scalable backend services and features using Python and distributed systems.
Mentor junior engineers and share software development processes and standards with peers.
Collaborate with product managers to understand, refine, and implement technical requirements.

Own the performance and availability of services while participating in on-call rotations for incident support.
Proactively improve existing engineering structures, processes, and standards for technical rigor.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience with Python or an equivalent high-level programming language.
Advanced skills with RDBMS and NoSQL data stores, caching solutions, and messaging/queuing protocols like SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pulsar.
Experience building services on public clouds, preferably AWS.
Experience managing infrastructure as code using Terraform.
Experience working with fault-tolerant and scalable distributed services and backend systems.
Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical projects within a scrum team.
Understanding of runtime environment concepts including Linux OS, JVM, and Python runtime.
