What you'll do

Act as a project leader by coordinating the activities of other engineers on specific projects or systems.
Determine and assign technical tasks to other engineers to achieve customer and operational objectives.
Design, estimate, and implement new and refactored software services that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
Proactively improve existing structures, processes, and engineering standards to enhance operational excellence.
Provide technical leadership and advice to senior leaders regarding systems, solutions, challenges, and strategy.
Own the performance and availability of services while participating in on-call rotations and incident support.
Represent the company to external partners, customers, and industry organizations.
Deliver high-quality code on time while following the established software development life cycle process.

What we're looking for

5+ years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Expert knowledge of distributed services and backend systems.
Advanced skills with RDBMS, NoSQL data stores, caching solutions, and messaging/queuing protocols (preferred).
Expertise in building services on public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure (preferred).
Experience managing infrastructure as code using Terraform (preferred).
Experience working with fault-tolerant and scalable distributed services and systems (preferred).
Ability to lead projects, mentor engineering staff, and manage relationships with non-technical business teams (preferred).
