Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer (Electrical), Amazon Leo joins the Leo team to manage supplier quality for aerospace-grade hardware. This role involves defining requirements, validating production processes, and leading supplier management activities including qualification, CAPA, and metrics reporting. The engineer will serve as a subject matter expert in PCB fabrication and PCBA manufacturing, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards while scaling quality systems to reduce defect parts-per-million during high-volume production. Key responsibilities include guiding product development teams on supplier selection, performing root cause analysis, and overseeing external audits. The role requires expertise in IPC standards, including IPC-A-610, IPC-600, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-6012, along with experience in APQP/PPAP. Candidates should possess skills in failure analysis techniques such as X-ray, CT imaging, and cross-sectioning to ensure high-reliability components meet stringent aerospace requirements.
Lead supplier quality management activities including requirements definition, qualification, production process validation, and CAPA.
Guide product development teams on supplier selection, assessment, audit, and development decisions.
Scale supplier processes and quality systems to reduce defect parts-per-million during high-volume production.

What we're looking for
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
Must have at least 5 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or process engineering within PCB fabrication or PCBA manufacturing.
Must possess working knowledge of IPC standards including IPC-A-610, IPC-600, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-6012.
Must have experience with APQP/PPAP or production part qualification in high-reliability industries like aerospace, satellite, medical device, or automotive.
Preferred expertise in failure analysis techniques such as cross-sectioning, SEM/EDS, X-ray, CT imaging, and FTIR for contamination identification.
Must be a subject matter expert in PCB fabrication, PCBA manufacturing, inspection, and process control methodologies.
Must be able to lead external audit teams and manage supplier quality activities including CAPA and metrics reporting.
Must possess strong analytical abilities and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
