As a Sr Staff IT Architect at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will join a collaborative team to drive innovation in technology solutions. You will play a key role in designing and implementing enterprise-wide solutions across multiple domains, including cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI/ML, data architecture, and automation. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve designing scalable solutions, establishing best practices, and providing strategic direction for critical technology initiatives while translating business requirements into robust architectural designs. You will utilize expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, alongside infrastructure as code, automation, and DevOps practices. This role focuses on solving complex technical problems by shaping the technology roadmap and guiding digital transformation to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and security compliance requirements across the organization.
Design and implement enterprise-wide solutions across cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI/ML, and data architecture.
Translate business requirements into robust architectural designs that align with enterprise standards.
Establish best practices and provide strategic direction for critical technology initiatives.
Shape the technology roadmap and guide digital transformation across the organization.
Support technical teams by implementing architectural standards and providing technical leadership.
Manage key stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Implement infrastructure as code, automation, and DevOps practices to ensure operational excellence.
What we're looking for
Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in enterprise architecture with progressive technical leadership responsibilities.
Preferred fields of study include Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Industry certifications relevant to specialty areas such as AWS, Azure, CISSP, or TOGAF are advantageous (preferred).
Deep expertise in one or more specialty areas: cloud architecture, cybersecurity, data/analytics, automation, or network infrastructure.
Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale enterprise solutions.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), infrastructure as code, automation, and DevOps practices.
Strong understanding of security principles, compliance requirements, and modern architectural patterns.
Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
