Senior Specialist, OT Research Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Design, build, and integrate OT automation solutions including PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS systems.
• Maintain and support secure industrial networks and infrastructure for GMP manufacturing and pilot plant operations.
• Develop and manage IT/OT service architecture diagrams covering data flows, virtualization, and network segmentation.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for automation and control systems.
• Translate stakeholder requirements from scientists and engineers into technical specifications for automation projects.
• Manage vendor relationships to evaluate and implement industrial control technologies and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with regulated system standards including validation, change control, and cybersecurity practices.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in automation, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Master’s degree (preferred).
• 5 years of experience with upstream manufacturing systems, pilot plant automation, process automation, or platforms like DeltaV, DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA.
• 4 years of hands-on experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI configuration, OT cybersecurity, and industrial networking.
• 4 years of knowledge of VMware, virtualized OT environments, PI Historian, and regulated computer system support.
• 4 years of experience with industrial networking, including switches, VLANs, subnets, firewalls, and Windows Active Directory.
• Experience supporting manufacturing software and hardware such as Ignition, MES, SAP, and various network equipment.
• Strong skills in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and managing projects within a regulated system environment.
