The Sr. Principal Data Center Electrical Product Development Engineer joins the product and research team to lead the technical development, qualification, and lifecycle management of mission-critical electrical equipment for data centers. Key responsibilities include overseeing Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, and reliability analysis while ensuring compliance with IEEE, NFPA, NEC, NEMA, IEC, and UL standards. The role solves critical infrastructure challenges by ensuring high-density compute power and liquid cooling distribution meet rigorous performance, safety, and reliability objectives through robust engineering and supplier quality management.

What you'll do

Lead the technical development, qualification, and lifecycle management of mission-critical electrical equipment for data centers.
Develop technical requirements, specifications, validation plans, and acceptance criteria for electrical products.
Conduct root cause investigations for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions with suppliers.
Define and manage testing protocols including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Serve as the primary technical interface for manufacturers to review designs, manufacturing processes, and quality documentation.
Establish reliability metrics and performance analytics to drive continuous product improvement and innovation.
Maintain electrical equipment standards, approved product lists, and engineering guidelines.
Lead engineering reviews for component substitutions, obsolescence management, and supplier qualifications.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
10+ years of experience in electrical equipment engineering, product development, manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, or reliability engineering.
Strong technical knowledge of mission-critical electrical equipment including switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, and power distribution infrastructure.
Experience developing electrical equipment specifications, validation plans, qualification requirements, and technical standards.
Ability to review electrical drawings, product documentation, manufacturing packages, and test reports.
Experience leading root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, Fishbone, or Fault Tree Analysis.
Familiarity with IEEE, NFPA, NEC, NEMA, IEC, and UL standards (preferred).
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
