The Sr. PCBA Aerospace Manufacturing Test Engineer joins the PCBA Manufacturing team to support the Amazon Leo low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. This role involves the deployment, qualification, and continuous improvement of test systems, processes, and procedures at contract manufacturing sites for satellite PCBAs. Key responsibilities include developing test strategies, designing test fixtures, performing root-cause failure analysis, and training technicians on test station operating procedures. The engineer will collaborate with R&D and Test Development teams to optimize test effectiveness and throughput. Required skills include experience with Linux/RHEL, programming languages like Python, Java, C#, or Perl, and proficiency with oscilloscopes and multimeters. The role focuses on solving technical challenges related to high power electrical tests, RF functional tests, ICT/bed-of-nails fixtures, and Flying Probe testing.
Develop test strategies and optimize test setups, fixtures, and equipment at Contract Manufacturing sites.
Perform PCBA debug and root-cause failure analysis at manufacturing locations.
Create runbooks and provide technical training for technicians and operators on test processes.
Analyze data to identify failure trends and recommend improvements for PCBAs and test systems.
Develop detailed procedures and documentation for test station operations.
Provide feedback to R&D teams on test coverage, fault isolation, and Design for Test recommendations.
Lead small teams to accomplish short-term objectives and implement strategic initiatives.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
8+ years of experience deploying, using, and training others on complex test systems including RF functional, high power electrical, ICT, and Flying Probe tests.
8+ years of experience integrating software and hardware systems.
8+ years of experience using standard electronic lab test equipment to debug complex PCBAs.
Experience in Linux/RHEL or experience with programming/scripting (Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby, and/or PHP).
Ability to write detailed test station operating procedures and create deployment/capacity plans for multiple testers at multiple CMs.
