As a PCBA Manufacturing Test Engineer within the PCBA Manufacturing and Test Engineering team, you will define and implement manufacturing and test processes for Satellite PCBA sub-systems. You will serve as the primary interface between internal engineering, operations teams, and manufacturing partners. Your daily responsibilities include developing test strategies, optimizing test setups at contract manufacturing sites, and designing test fixtures, equipment, and diagnostic software. You will verify compliance with DFM and DFT principles, perform root-cause failure analysis, and train operators on test processes. Required skills include experience with digital scopes, logic analyzers, soldering tools, and Linux/RHEL or Ubuntu. You must possess experience with RF Functional Tests, High Power Electrical Tests, and ICT/bed-of-nails fixtures, while utilizing tools like LabVIEW, TestStand, and Python to solve complex space hardware testing problems.
Develop test strategies and optimize test setups at contract manufacturing sites.
Design, specify, and qualify test fixtures, equipment, and diagnostic software.
Verify compliance with DFM and DFT principles to resolve manufacturing challenges.
Perform PCBA debug and root-cause failure analysis at manufacturing sites.
Record and analyze process metrics to predict and eliminate production failures.
Train operators on test processes and support recurring certification programs.
Provide feedback on test coverage and failure trends for continuous improvement.
Manage configuration changes and configuration control throughout the manufacturing process.
What we're looking for
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or granted asylum.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
Experience with hardware lab equipment such as digital scopes, logic analyzers, and soldering tools.
Experience in Linux/RHEL, Ubuntu/Solaris, or programming/scripting languages like Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby, or PHP.
3+ years of experience designing and building test fixtures and complex test systems including RF Functional Tests, High Power Electrical Tests, and ICT/bed-of-nails fixtures.
3+ years of experience integrating software and hardware systems.
5+ years of experience designing and building test fixtures and complex test systems including RF Functional Tests, High Power Electrical Tests, and ICT/bed-of-nails fixtures (preferred).
