What you'll do

Lead the planning, design, analysis, procurement, and testing of ground support equipment for launch operations.
Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Siemens NX to define hardware specifications.
Perform structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element analysis to support mechanical designs.
Manage external vendors to ensure equipment meets technical specifications and production timelines.
Develop technical documentation for maintenance, proofload requirements, and assembly integration procedures.
Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions or hardware modifications.
Track and report on project schedules, budgets, and technical status for all ground support systems.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent (preferred).
10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
5+ years of experience in structural analysis including hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis.
7+ years of experience with CAD Design of complex systems, including 3D modeling, drawings, and GD&T.
Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
Experience in the design of large weldments and mechanical systems.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
