Senior Mechanical Cx Engineer, Data Center Engineering

What you'll do

• Govern the end-to-end mechanical commissioning lifecycle from Level 1 through Level 5 for all new data centers and critical infrastructure.
• Develop and standardize global mechanical commissioning playbooks, test scripts, and Integrated Systems Testing execution plans.
• Manage, audit, and oversee third-party Commissioning Agents, mechanical contractors, and Test and Balance firms during onsite testing.
• Perform technical commissionability reviews on design packages, P&IDs, and sequences of operations to ensure operational resilience.
• Validate Factory Acceptance Testing for major equipment including chillers, cooling towers, and hydronic pump skids.
• Lead the technical validation of advanced high-density liquid cooling topologies and direct-to-chip cooling systems.
• Drive mechanical root cause analysis during live load testing to validate cross-domain interlocks and failover schemes.
• Manage the operational turnover process by ensuring accurate baseline trending, O&M documentation, and facility training.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience commissioning and managing mechanical and HVAC systems in a hyperscale data center environment.
• Experience with large-scale mechanical cooling systems including chilled water plants, cooling towers, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, and pumping infrastructure.
• Experience commissioning, testing, and validating data center fire protection, suppression, and early warning detection systems.
• Experience developing and overseeing Level 4 (Functional Performance Testing) and Level 5 (Integrated Systems Testing) test scripts and procedures.
• Experience with mechanical Sequence of Operations validation under dynamic load conditions.
• Willingness to travel approximately 40%, including international travel for vendor testing and site commissioning.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering (preferred); 8+ years of mission-critical leadership experience (preferred).
