As a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the Consumer and Community banking division, you will join an agile team focused on building and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will provide technical guidance to teams and vendors while developing high-quality production code, performing code reviews, and debugging complex systems. A primary focus involves driving the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery speed and quality across the software development life cycle. Your daily work involves designing application functionality, managing infrastructure, and ensuring operational stability. You will utilize Python, Java, SQL, and NoSQL databases alongside AWS services like EMR, EKS, EC2, and S3. Additionally, you will leverage monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana to manage large-scale data architectures and ensure robust system performance in a cloud-native environment.
Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by other team members.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish measurable validation standards for automated testing, peer reviews, and secure coding practices.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations through informed decision-making.
Serve as a subject matter expert in specific technical areas like cloud, AI, or machine learning.
Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices within the software development life cycle.
Manage and deploy applications using AWS services including EMR, EKS/ECS, and S3.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, testing, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in Python and/or Java with expertise in modern programming and database querying languages.
Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data lakes, and AWS S3 for scalable data storage architectures.
Proven track record deploying applications using AWS services (EMR, EKS/ECS, EC2, Event Bus, S3) and enterprise monitoring platforms.
