As a Sr Lead Software Engineer - Engineering Services & Platforms, you will join an agile team within the Chief Technology Office to build and deliver secure, scalable technology products. You will utilize Java, React or Angular, Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, and AWS cloud-native solutions. The role focuses on improving SDLC cycle times and developer experience by standardizing reusable frameworks and automating risk detection. You will solve complex problems involving operational resilience, software supply-chain governance, and the integration of AI tools into the development lifecycle.

What you'll do

Provide technical leadership across frontend, backend, API, database, and AI integration workstreams.
Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by other engineers.
Build and maintain mission-critical technology platforms in complex, highly regulated environments.
Create scalable, measurable, and resilient engineering ecosystems to support large-scale software delivery.
Translate policy and regulatory requirements into practical engineering capabilities and technical frameworks.
Modernize SDLC controls by automating risk detection and embedding compliance into developer workflows.
Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Design and implement cloud-native solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and React in production environments.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience building full stack applications using Java and React or Angular.
Practical experience delivering Spring/Spring Boot microservices and well-designed REST APIs.
Proficiency across the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing, release, and support.
Experience with Kafka or restAPI Messaging Services.
Experience implementing automation and continuous delivery, including build and test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and quality gates.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and ensuring responsible AI usage.
Practical experience developing production-scale cloud-native (AWS) engineering solutions in commercial environments; Docker skills and banking experience (preferred).
