As a Sr Lead Software Engineer - Engineering Services & Platforms, you will join the Engineering Services and Platforms team within the Chief Technology Office. You will provide technical leadership across frontend, backend, API, database, and AI integration workstreams to build mission-critical technology platforms in highly regulated environments. Your daily responsibilities include developing secure production code, modernizing SDLC controls, and automating risk detection. You will leverage Java, React, Spring Boot, and REST APIs to create scalable, auditable systems. The role requires expertise in Kafka, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS cloud-native solutions. You will specifically focus on improving SDLC cycle times and developer satisfaction by integrating enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, strengthening software supply-chain governance, and translating regulatory expectations into practical engineering capabilities across the enterprise.

What you'll do

Provide technical leadership across frontend, backend, API, database, and AI integration workstreams.
Develop, review, and debug secure, high-quality production code for mission-critical technology platforms.
Build scalable, auditable, and resilient engineering ecosystems in highly regulated environments.
Translate policy and regulatory expectations into practical engineering capabilities and TRC frameworks.
Modernize SDLC controls by automating risk detection and embedding compliance into developer workflows.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Design and implement production-scale cloud-native solutions using Java, React, and Spring Boot microservices.
Manage CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and quality gates to improve SDLC cycle time and consistency.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience building full stack applications using Java and React or Angular.
Practical experience delivering Spring/Spring Boot microservices and well-designed REST APIs.
Proficiency across the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing, release, and support.
Experience with Kafka or restAPI Messaging Services.
Experience implementing automation and continuous delivery, including CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and data sensitivity considerations.
Practical experience developing production-scale Cloud-native (AWS) engineering solutions.
Hands-on container skills with Docker (preferred).
Experience within a Banking and/or Payments environment (preferred).
