As a Sr Lead Software Engineer - Java Fullstack/ AI, you will join the Asset and Wealth Management team to build and deliver secure, scalable, and market-leading technology products. You will lead a global scrum team, taking ownership of business results by translating complex business problems into technical solutions. Your daily responsibilities include architecting for scale, developing high-quality production code, and mentoring developers in AI-first development approaches. You will integrate AI into engineering workflows for code review, testing, and incident analysis. Required technical skills include experience with microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs, NoSQL stores, Kafka eventing, and AWS. You must demonstrate proficiency in building AI-native applications using Claude Code while ensuring responsible AI use, secure coding practices, and robust CI/CD DevOps toolchain integration.
Lead a global scrum team to deliver on business commitments and take full ownership of results.
Architect scalable, secure, and resilient platform solutions while proactively addressing technical debt.
Integrate AI into development workflows and mentor team members on AI-first engineering practices.
Develop high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other developers.
Drive decisions regarding product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
Establish and govern measurable validation standards for secure coding, automated testing, and peer reviews.
Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks and tools.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced knowledge of modern architectures based on microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs, NoSQL stores, and Kafka eventing.
Experience building AI native applications using Claude Code.
Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms and practical cloud native experience.
Experience working through the entire lifecycle of at least 2 large, complex application build-outs from scratch for a large financial organization or top-class technology product team.
Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps tool chain, software monitoring, and a test-driven approach to agile delivery.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and coaching others on compliant usage patterns.
Skilled at partnering with Product, collaborating, influencing, and constructively challenging to achieve the best outcomes (preferred).
