As a Sr Lead Software Engineer - Java Fullstack/ AI within the Asset and Wealth Management team, you will lead a global scrum team to build and deliver secure, scalable technology products. The role requires expertise in Java, microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs, NoSQL stores, Kafka eventing, and AWS cloud platforms. You must also possess experience with Claude Code and a deep understanding of responsible AI usage within secure financial environments.

What you'll do

Lead a global scrum team to deliver on commitments while taking full ownership of business results.
Architect scalable, secure, and resilient platform solutions that meet long-term business needs and address technical debt.
Integrate AI into product solutions and team workflows to solve business problems and accelerate delivery.
Mentor developers in adopting AI-first development approaches and high-quality engineering standards.
Develop, review, and debug high-quality production code while ensuring adherence to secure coding practices.
Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools for code review, refactoring, and test acceleration.
Serve as a subject matter expert on firmwide frameworks, tools, and software development lifecycle processes.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations through informed decision-making.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced knowledge of modern architectures including microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs, NoSQL stores, and Kafka eventing.
Experience building AI native applications using Claude Code.
Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms with practical cloud native experience.
Experience leading at least 2 large, complex application build-outs from scratch for a financial organization or top-class technology product team.
Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps toolchain, software monitoring, and test-driven agile delivery.
Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI tools and understanding responsible AI use in engineering workflows.
Skilled at partnering with Product, collaborating, influencing, and constructively challenging to achieve the best outcomes (preferred).
