What you'll do

Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by others.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across multiple teams.
Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
Implement automation capabilities within the Software Development Life Cycle to improve delivery speed and scale.
Make key decisions regarding product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
Serve as a subject matter expert in specific areas of focus across the organization.
Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices within the engineering community.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced knowledge of Java, microservices, Kafka, AWS cloud, and PostgreSQL or similar technologies.
Experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Expertise in responsible AI usage, including data sensitivity, secure handling, and coaching others on compliant patterns.
Ability to solve complex design and functionality problems independently with minimal oversight.
Practical experience with cloud-native technologies.
Preferred experience in the banking industry or holding an AWS Certification.
