What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and external vendors.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations through key architectural decisions.
Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in specific technical focus areas.
Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle practices within the engineering community.
Coach senior engineers on compliant usage patterns and security controls for responsible AI in engineering workflows.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced knowledge in Java, microservices, Kafka, AWS cloud, Postgresql, or similar technologies.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, security, and coaching others on compliant usage.
Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
Practical cloud native experience.
Experience with Banking (preferred).
AWS Certification (preferred).
