TL;DR · Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer, Hyper-V Virtualization & Infrastructure Engineering

The Sr Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Hyper-V Virtualization & Infrastructure Engineering joins the Compute Platform Engineering team to engineer enterprise-scale Microsoft Hyper-V infrastructure across global data centers. This role involves architecting Hyper-V cluster designs including WSFC, live migration, S2D, and vSwitch/SET topologies while delivering resilient virtualization services for tens of thousands of workloads. Key responsibilities include automating provisioning and patching using PowerShell, DSC, and platform APIs, and developing a custom C#/.NET 8 workload management platform. The engineer will benchmark compute and storage performance, diagnose full-stack issues, and harden environments against vulnerabilities. Required skills include deep expertise in Hyper-V, PowerShell, and C#/.NET, alongside experience with CI/CD pipelines and enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate infrastructure analysis and automation routines within a large-scale production environment.

What you'll do

  • Architect Hyper-V cluster designs across global pools including WSFC, live migration, and vSwitch topologies.
  • Automate provisioning, patching, and compliance enforcement using PowerShell, DSC, and platform APIs.
  • Develop and enhance a custom C#/.NET 8 workload management platform for orchestration.
  • Benchmark compute and storage performance using industry-standard tooling to guide capacity decisions.
  • Diagnose full-stack issues across compute, storage, networking, and hypervisor layers.
  • Evaluate server BOMs for Hyper-V suitability based on CPU, memory, storage, and network characteristics.
  • Harden environments by remediating vulnerabilities and enforcing platform baselines at scale.
  • Use enterprise-authorized AI to analyze infrastructure signals and accelerate automation routines.

What we're looking for

  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure disciplines plus 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in enterprise or large-scale environments.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Hyper-V at scale, including WSFC, live migration, S2D, and virtual networking (vSwitch/SET).
  • Strong PowerShell skills for automation, operational tooling, and configuration management.
  • Demonstrated experience performing full-stack performance auditing across compute, storage, networking, and hypervisor layers.
  • Proven ability to analyze and optimize storage performance in virtualized environments.
  • Experience with data-center-scale automation/configuration tooling such as DSC, SCCM, or Ansible.
  • Working proficiency in C#/.NET to maintain and extend automation/orchestration services.
  • Experience building or operating CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for infrastructure automation artifacts.
  • Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits.
  • Experience operating dual-hypervisor environments like VMware ESXi and/or KVM (preferred).
  • Strong server hardware fluency and experience with advanced virtual networking concepts (preferred).
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center tooling or vulnerability remediation workflows (preferred).
  • Practical performance tooling experience for repeatable benchmarking (preferred).
