The Sr Engineering Program Manager, Apple Intelligence Evaluations joins the Software and Services team to lead highly cross-functional Software and ML initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing complex workstreams, overseeing annotation and data collection operations, and synthesizing technical complexity into actionable communications for executive leadership. The role requires expertise in managing large-scale ML-powered programs, specifically involving Generative AI, Large Language Models, and LLM evaluation practices. You will ensure that AI products meet high quality bars while navigating fast-paced environments and complex technical dependencies.

What you'll do

Own the evaluation plans for foundation models and AI features, including scope, metrics, and launch-readiness.
Define evaluation requirements, methodologies, and tooling in partnership with research, data science, and engineering teams.
Drive complex workstreams by managing dependencies, identifying critical paths, and resolving project conflicts.
Manage annotation and data collection operations to ensure high-quality evaluation data is delivered on schedule.
Coordinate with privacy and legal teams to ensure data strategies align with corporate values.
Synthesize technical complexities into clear, actionable communications for executive leadership.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's or Master's degree in EE, CS, CE, or equivalent.
5+ years of experience managing large-scale, ML-powered and software programs across large organizations.
Proven program management, analytical, and cross-functional leadership skills with experience in data-driven decision-making and process improvements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation, negotiation, and the ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to details.
Direct program management experience with Generative AI or Large Language Models (LLMs) (preferred).
Familiarity with LLM evaluation practices (preferred).
Experience analyzing product data to assess quality, shipping AI features in consumer products, and understanding ML system lifecycles (preferred).
