The Sr. Engineering Program Manager, Human Centered AI (HAI), Apple Services Engineering joins the Human-Centered AI team to drive strategic initiatives across AI research, engineering, evaluation, and Responsible AI. You will build and lead complex initiatives involving LLM-as-a-Judge, automated evaluation, human evaluation, and agentic AI systems. Key responsibilities include navigating ambiguity, mentoring other program managers, and establishing scalable frameworks using Generative AI and automation. You must possess a technical understanding of AI/ML systems, foundation models, and Responsible AI principles, including adversarial testing and red teaming, to translate research into scalable engineering solutions within the AI services domain.

What you'll do

Shape technical roadmaps and influence investment decisions by partnering with engineering, research, and senior leadership.
Advance evaluation strategies for LLMs and agentic AI systems using LLM-as-a-Judge and automated evaluation.
Lead complex initiatives across AI research, engineering, infrastructure, and safety teams.
Drive large-scale AI/ML initiatives by establishing measurable outcomes and identifying risks or dependencies.
Mentor other EPMs and establish scalable program management practices across the organization.
Translate complex technical challenges into clear recommendations and strategic tradeoffs for senior leadership.
Leverage Generative AI and automation to improve organizational efficiency and program management.

What we're looking for

8+ years of experience in engineering or technical program management leading complex cross-functional initiatives.
Strong technical understanding of AI/ML systems, including generative AI and large language models.
Experience with AI evaluation methodologies, including LLM-as-a-Judge, automated evaluation, and human evaluation.
Understanding of Responsible AI principles, including safety, reliability, and risk assessment.
Demonstrated ability to influence technical strategy, navigate ambiguity, and drive alignment across engineering and research organizations.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including experience engaging senior leadership.
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
Experience with foundation models, LLMs, or agentic AI systems at scale (preferred).
