Senior Engineering Manager, Operational Engineering

What you'll do

• Build and lead a high-performing engineering team focused on software reliability, vulnerability remediation, and operational excellence.
• Establish scalable processes for intake, prioritization, validation, and reporting of security vulnerabilities and software health risks.
• Partner with Product and Platform Engineering to reduce technical debt, engineering toil, and recurring operational interruptions.
• Develop operating models and reusable tools to improve software delivery outcomes and engineering productivity across the enterprise.
• Lead cross-functional discovery efforts to identify root causes of process gaps and translate findings into prioritized roadmaps.
• Advance the adoption of AI-assisted engineering solutions and automated workflows for validation and quality control.
• Define and monitor key metrics for engineering health, reliability, and remediation effectiveness to communicate impact to stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience, including direct people-management responsibilities.
• Experience leading software reliability, software quality, platform engineering, modernization, DevSecOps, operational engineering, or engineering productivity initiatives.
• Experience partnering with Product Engineering, Cybersecurity, Platform Engineering, and Operations organizations.
• Strong knowledge of modern software development lifecycle practices, DevOps principles, and software delivery methodologies.
• Experience establishing engineering processes, operating models, standards, or governance frameworks.
• Experience using engineering and operational metrics to drive decisions and measure outcomes.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives within complex, matrixed organizations.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence teams and leaders across organizational boundaries.
• Experience with vulnerability remediation, application security, dependency management, or secure software development practices (preferred).
• Experience with software quality engineering, site reliability engineering, observability, or application support functions (preferred).
• Experience leading engineering teams supporting multiple products, platforms, or business domains (preferred).
• Experience working with cloud-native platforms and distributed systems (preferred).
• Experience partnering with cybersecurity, compliance, risk, or software governance programs (preferred).
• Experience implementing automation and AI-assisted engineering practices (preferred).
• Experience improving deployment, testing, release management, validation, or developer productivity workflows (preferred).
• Experience working within regulated industries and complex enterprise environments (preferred).
