TL;DR · Senior Configuration Analyst Manager, Mechanical Engineering, Configuration Management

Sr Configuration Analyst/Manager, Mechanical Engineering, Configuration Management joins the Engineering Practice & Configuration Management team to manage configuration integrity for a low Earth orbit satellite network. This technical role involves performing comprehensive impact analysis across satellite systems including the bus, payload, electrical engineering, phased array antenna, radio frequency, and structural subsystems. You will maintain configuration baselines, establish data hierarchies for aerospace systems, and develop GD&T-compliant drawing packages to support leadership decision-making. The role requires expertise in Systems Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools like Teamcenter and Siemens NX, and familiarity with Interface Control Documents. You will also manage Change Control Boards and coordinate across multiple engineering functions to ensure changes align with technical designs, requirements, and production constraints. Key skills include experience with aerospace systems, data analytics for automation, and managing complex hardware development programs.

What you'll do

  • Manage and maintain configuration management baselines for satellite systems across multiple vehicle configurations and product lines.
  • Perform comprehensive impact analyses on engineering changes regarding technical design, interface specifications, requirements, schedule, cost, and production.
  • Establish and maintain data hierarchies to ensure as-designed, as-built, and as-tested configurations are traceable through the PLM toolchain.
  • Lead the Change Control Board (CCB) to manage analysis, dependencies, and deliverables for all engineering change categories.
  • Develop data-driven technical packages and GD&T-compliant drawing packages to support leadership decision-making.
  • Coordinate cross-functional change analysis across satellite bus, payload, electrical, antenna, radio frequency, and structural subsystems.
  • Maintain engineering change notification logs and provide executive-level reporting on configuration status and metrics.
  • Define and maintain business requirements and process documentation for Engineering Change Control workflows and classification logic.

What we're looking for

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field).
  • 5+ years of experience in Configuration Management and Change Management within aerospace, satellite, or defense programs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Systems Engineering of spacecraft systems and performing impact analysis at system and subsystem levels.
  • Experience establishing data hierarchies and structures for aerospace systems with multiple evolving product lines.
  • Familiarity with Physical, Informational, and Operational Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Expertise in GD&T and developing technical data packages for engineering documentation.
  • Background in the design of satellite systems, launch vehicles, or other aerospace systems.
