Spacecraft Design CAD Mechanical Engineer, Configuration Management

What you'll do

• Create and manage complex 3D CAD designs for large spacecraft systems within Siemens NX.
• Produce engineering drawings that comply with specific standards and GD&T best practices.
• Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) lifecycle through the Teamcenter PLM system.
• Translate engineering intent into production-ready models, drawings, and data packages.
• Coordinate with suppliers to define sourced components and develop procurement-ready technical data.
• Review manufacturing sources and optimize designs for producibility and cost.
• Maintain configuration control, revision history, and data integrity within the PLM ecosystem.
• Organize CAD databases and manage naming conventions to ensure team-wide efficiency.

What we're looking for

• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 1+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 3+ years of CAD experience with complex mechanical/electro-mechanical assemblies, machines, structures, or systems.
• 1+ years of experience creating and optimizing mechanical designs with complex interactions and constraints.
• 1+ years of experience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines to understand and integrate diverse requirements.
• Expert-level capability with Siemens NX for advanced CAD assemblies (4+ years preferred).
• Experience managing CAD databases, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) using Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, material properties for harsh environments, and GD&T best practices.
