Sr Advanced TIDES Engineer serves as a senior cross-functional technical lead for the Test Integration & Development Environment for Spacecraft organization. This role spans three pillars: System Test Environment hardware, Platform Integration & Evolution firmware, and Standard Software Infrastructure. You will define, integrate, and mature test environments to support spacecraft payload development, design verification, production testing, and sustainment. Daily responsibilities include translating payload requirements into test capabilities, managing rack-level hardware, coordinating FPGA and digital I/O needs, and supporting proposal development through cost and risk analysis. Key technologies and skills include LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, Git, CI/CD concepts, Kubernetes, Docker, and high-speed digital interfaces like JESD204B. You will solve complex integration issues by bridging the gap between payload requirements and available test capabilities while ensuring infrastructure is reusable, scalable, and technically sound for mission-critical space systems.
Lead technical coordination for hardware, firmware, and software infrastructure across the TIDES pillars.
Design and verify test environments for spacecraft payload development, production testing, and sustainment.
Translate complex payload requirements into specific test capabilities, measurement approaches, and verification plans.
Develop design packages including interface control documents, rack architectures, and cable packages.
Coordinate FPGA and digital I/O requirements across test racks and data capture paths.
Deploy and manage automated test infrastructure, network topologies, and software core integrations.
Drive trade studies regarding hardware, automation, cost, risk, and program execution priorities.
Support proposal development by providing technical solutions, labor estimates, and risk assessments.
What we're looking for
U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance within a reasonable amount of time.
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field with 8 years of experience.
Master's degree in a related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
Experience in spacecraft payload development, integration, verification, production test, or sustainment.
Proficiency in system test environments, automated test systems, RF equipment, and FPGA-based interfaces.
Familiarity with LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, Git, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Experience supporting proposals, including BOEs, technical volumes, labor estimates, and risk analysis.
