The Sr Advanced TIDES Engineer serves as a senior cross-functional technical lead within the Test Integration & Development Environment for Spacecraft organization. This role involves leading technical coordination across three pillars: System Test Environment hardware, Platform Integration & Evolution firmware, and Standard Software Infrastructure. You will define, integrate, and mature test environments to support spacecraft payload development, design verification, production test, and sustainment. Key responsibilities include translating payload requirements into test capabilities, designing rack architectures, and managing FPGA and digital I/O needs. You will utilize LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, Git, and Kubernetes to deploy automated test infrastructure and networked software. The work involves solving complex integration issues, performing trade studies, and developing technical solutions for spacecraft hardware, high-speed digital interfaces, and hardware-in-the-loop test environments to ensure program verification needs are met.
Lead technical coordination across hardware, firmware, and software infrastructure for spacecraft test environments.
Support the architecture, design, integration, and verification of production and calibration test environments.
Translate payload and program requirements into specific test capabilities, measurement approaches, and verification plans.
Develop design packages including interface control documents, rack architectures, and cable packages.
Coordinate FPGA and digital I/O needs for test racks, data capture paths, and timing distribution.
Deploy test infrastructure including network topologies, automated test execution, and data handling systems.
Drive trade studies across hardware, software, automation, cost, and risk to identify optimal solutions.
Support proposal development by providing technical approaches, labor estimates, and risk assessments.
What we're looking for
U.S. citizenship is required.
Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance within a reasonable amount of time.
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field plus 8 years of relevant experience.
Master's degree in a related field plus 6 years of relevant experience.
Experience with spacecraft payload development, integration, verification, production test, or sustainment (preferred).
Experience with system test environments, automated test systems, RF test equipment, FPGA-based interfaces, and rack-level integration (preferred).
Experience with requirements analysis, interface definition, system integration, and verification planning (preferred).
Familiarity with LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, Git, CI/CD, and Kubernetes or docker (preferred).
