TL;DR · Specialist, Electrical Engineering - FPGA Verification Engineer

Specialist, Electrical Engineering - FPGA Verification Engineer will join the engineering team to develop and execute verification plans for complex digital designs. The role involves building reusable UVM-based testbenches, creating constrained-random and directed tests, and developing components like drivers, monitors, predictors, and scoreboards. Key responsibilities include debugging simulation failures, analyzing coverage metrics, and ensuring functional correctness throughout the development lifecycle. The position requires proficiency in SystemVerilog, SystemVerilog Assertions, and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or bash/csh. Candidates should be familiar with EDA tools like Vivado or Quartus, Linux environments, and revision control systems like Git or SVN. Technical expertise includes experience with Altera or Xilinx architectures, high-speed serial protocols like PCIe and Ethernet, and network protocols such as IPv6 and UDP to solve complex hardware verification challenges.

What you'll do

  • Develop and execute comprehensive FPGA verification plans to validate complex digital designs.
  • Architect UVM test cases for individual blocks and sub-blocks within an FPGA.
  • Build reusable UVM components including agents, top-level testbench modules, and environments.
  • Create drivers, monitors, predictors, and scoreboards based on specific DUT requirements.
  • Define and implement functional coverage models to meet design requirements and close code coverage.
  • Debug simulation failures and identify corner cases to improve design robustness.
  • Automate regression tests and manage verification using scripting languages like Python or Perl.
  • Ensure functional correctness throughout the development lifecycle by collaborating with design and systems engineers.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, a graduate degree with 2 years of experience, or 8 years of experience without a degree.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance (limited to U.S. citizens).
  • Experience developing and executing verification plans and building reusable UVM-based testbenches for complex digital designs.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog, assertion-based verification, and Object Oriented Programming concepts.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as bash/csh, Perl, or Python.
  • Experience with Altera or Xilinx/AMD FPGA architectures (preferred).
  • Experience with high-speed serial protocols, network protocols, and SoC designs (preferred).
  • Experience with VHDL, Vivado/Quartus tools, and Linux environments (preferred).
