TL;DR · Senior Mechanical Engineer, AI Satellites

Sr. Mechanical Engineer, AI Satellites (Starmind) joins the team to own the full lifecycle of hardware for the Starmind constellation, which focuses on satellites capturing solar energy to power high-performance AI compute for Earth. The role involves developing large fluid-based deployable radiators, massive deployable solar arrays, and packaging for compute trays while managing satellite mechanisms and optical payloads. Responsibilities include defining design criteria, performing environmental testing, and driving high-volume production through DFM strategies that reduce part counts and error proofing. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and over five years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing. Preferred skills include a master’s degree, proficiency in 3D CAD such as NX, application of GD&T, and expertise in structural analysis and failure modes for complex systems.
