Solution Architect, Insurance Solutions and New Markets

What you'll do

• Design and architect technical solutions for new products using Java, Kafka, AWS, and EKS.
• Shape product requirements with partners while business needs are still being defined.
• Create architecture artifacts including Well-Architected reviews, impact assessments, and design documents.
• Translate complex technical roadmaps into actionable information for stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering and Cyber teams to ensure solutions are secure and supportable.
• Resolve implementation roadblocks by building prototypes or investigating unfamiliar technologies when delivery teams stall.
• Utilize LLMs to pressure-test design tradeoffs and draft architectural documentation.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience in solution architecture or equivalent technical design roles.
• Experience in financial services including retirement, insurance, or other regulated environments.
• Experience with Java, Kafka, and/or containers such as EKS or equivalent.
• University degree (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience (preferred).
• Comfort designing for products that are still being defined based on general business direction (preferred).
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills to drive consensus without formal authority (preferred).
• Experience with cloud-native patterns, regulatory constraints, and non-functional requirements like performance and scalability (preferred).
