What you'll do

• Build and maintain the agents that power the Piper AI SDR product.
• Own the system prompts, model configurations, context layers, and evals for AI agents.
• Develop features that integrate customer GTM strategies, CRM data, and guardrails into personalized AI experiences.
• Build and maintain LLM evals to measure response quality and business outcomes like lead conversion.
• Execute end-to-end ownership of features from initial scoping and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
• Make architectural decisions and solve complex system design challenges for the intelligence layer.
• Troubleshoot LLM responses by identifying issues within traces and optimizing reasoning tradeoffs.
• Collaborate with product and AI platform teams to translate customer needs into reliable software.

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in product engineering or related fields.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals and proficiency in frontend and backend development.
• Ability to work independently and own ideas from scoping through production.
• Experience shipping real-time and text-based LLM products (preferred).
• Familiarity with Rails and React (preferred).
• Understanding of agent fundamentals including traces, context, tokens, system prompts, and reasoning tradeoffs.
• Hands-on work with an LLM observability system or building an eval system (preferred).
• Experience building software for marketing, sales, or go-to-market teams (preferred).
