As a Software Engineer III within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments Technology team, you will join an agile group to design and deliver secure, stable, and scalable market-leading technology products. You are responsible for executing software solutions, troubleshooting complex technical problems, and producing architecture artifacts while ensuring all design constraints are met by the code. Your daily work involves developing high-quality production code, maintaining algorithms, and utilizing enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve delivery speed and quality through refactoring and unit test creation. You will leverage Core Java, Spring Frameworks, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, REST APIs, Microservices, and SQL databases while working with Maven, BitBucket, and AWS cloud services. The role focuses on solving technical challenges within the payments industry by managing large datasets to improve system architecture and coding hygiene.

What we're looking for
Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Proficiency in Core Java, Spring frameworks, REST API, Microservices, and other web technologies.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
Hands-on experience with SQL databases, including developing queries and performing code tuning.
Experience developing Microservices Applications and Spring Batch Applications.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to create, validate, and refine outputs for performance and security.
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Working experience with tools like IntelliJ, Maven, BitBucket, Gitflow, and AWS cloud services; React or Financial Services experience (preferred).
