As a Java AWS Software Engineer III on the Consumer & Community Banking - Digital Credit Journey team, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team designing and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You are responsible for executing software solutions, troubleshooting complex problems, and producing architecture artifacts while maintaining high-quality production code. Your daily work involves developing and debugging applications using Java, Spring Boot, and database querying languages within a large corporate environment. You will build event-driven API designs using Kafka messaging and develop on AWS using services like ECS, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway. Additionally, you will utilize enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve delivery speed and quality. The role focuses on solving technical challenges in the digital credit space while ensuring system architecture meets strict security and performance standards.

What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using Java, Spring Boot, and database querying languages.
Experience with Kafka messaging/streaming architectures and event-driven API design at scale in production.
Hands-on AWS development experience with services including ECS, VPC, S3, IAM, Lambda, Route53, NLB, ALB, and API Gateway.
Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to generate code, create tests, and troubleshoot while ensuring security and performance.
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
