What you'll do

Design and implement complex features and services while managing API contracts and backward compatibility.
Write secure, high-quality production code for both backend and frontend systems.
Implement resilient design patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and idempotency to ensure system stability.
Optimize database performance through schema design, indexing, query tuning, and caching across SQL and NoSQL systems.
Author design proposals and participate in peer reviews to align technical architecture with business goals.
Improve operational excellence by defining SLOs/SLIs and enhancing observability through logs, metrics, and traces.
Integrate approved AI assistants into development workflows while adhering to strict security and governance guardrails.
Conduct rigorous code reviews and pair programming to ensure high engineering standards across the team.

What we're looking for

B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of experience delivering production systems in a team environment.
Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot development, SQL, and event-driven/messaging systems such as SNS, SQS, and Kafka.
Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native services including ECS/EKS/Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/DynamoDB/CassandraDB, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.
Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 to contribute to and debug user-facing code.
Experience in system design, RESTful JSON API design, microservices, testing strategy, and operational stability in distributed environments.
Strong understanding of security and resiliency including OWASP Top 10, OAuth2/OIDC, secrets management, and resilient integration patterns.
Operational experience using approved AI assistants within development workflows following established governance and quality gates.
Experience in .NET/C# (preferred).
Experience in TypeScript and React (preferred).
Travel or hospitality domain experience (preferred).
Experience contributing to evaluation practices for AI-assisted development or features (preferred).
Familiarity with frontend performance and accessibility best practices (preferred).
