TL;DR · Silicon Validation Software Engineer, GPU IP Validation and Integration

Silicon Validation Software Engineer- GPU IP Validation and Integration joins the Silicon Technologies group to develop graphics validation software and integrate it into system level test environments. The role involves writing shaders to stress the GPU and create high bandwidth traffic for the memory subsystem, while utilizing driver and firmware APIs to compile shaders and prime operations using GPU threads and SIMD groups. Candidates will leverage their knowledge of GPU architecture, memory hierarchies, and SoC systems to debug software and hardware issues during system level validation. Required skills include C/C++, Python, GNU Make, and experience with OpenGL or CUDA. The work focuses on the technical challenges of characterizing high-performance, power-efficient system-on-chip designs by exercising interactions between GPU blocks and various IP components while implementing ML and LLM workloads for characterization.

What you'll do

  • Write shaders that stress the GPU and generate high bandwidth traffic for the memory subsystem.
  • Develop tests based on GPU architecture to stress the pipeline and exercise interactions between SoC IP blocks.
  • Use driver and firmware APIs to compile shaders and manage data movement via GPU threads and SIMD groups.
  • Perform system-level validation to identify and debug both software and hardware issues within the SoC.
  • Implement and run ML/LLM workloads for specific GPU characterization tasks.
  • Develop graphics validation software and integrate it into a system-level test environment.

What we're looking for

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience in silicon validation software engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with Graphics, OpenGL, and CUDA (preferred).
  • Understanding of GPU pipeline, graphics theory, system architecture, and SoC architectures (preferred).
  • Experience with image processing, memory hierarchies, and compilers (preferred).
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Python and GNU Make (preferred).
  • Deep understanding of compute systems, operating systems, computer architecture, and SoC system level validation (preferred).
