As a Senior Virtual Platform Functional Modeling Engineer, you will join the team building a next-generation distributed multi-node functional modeling environment to enable scalable pre-silicon system validation across CPU, GPU, AI, and adaptive computing platforms. You will define and deliver framework infrastructure, develop model interfaces, and implement inter-node communication behaviors including message ordering and flow control. Your daily work involves designing simulation orchestration services, creating validation strategies, and developing CI/CD automation to ensure model reliability. The role requires expertise in C++, SystemC/TLM-2.0, QEMU, and Simics, alongside knowledge of SoC architecture, memory hierarchies, and interconnects like PCIe, CXL, and AXI. You will solve the challenge of providing software-executable representations of complex systems to facilitate earlier firmware bring-up and architectural exploration before physical silicon is available for testing.
Define and implement inter-node communication behaviors including message ordering, flow control, and protocol state machines.
Design and improve simulation orchestration services such as job scheduling, synchronization, and deterministic execution.
Develop model interfaces, adapters, and communication frameworks to enable scalable system integration.
Create validation strategies, regression suites, and CI/CD automation to ensure model quality.
Translate architectural specifications into executable models and validation-ready platform behaviors.
Evaluate commercial and open-source technologies to improve modeling productivity and platform scalability.
Develop infrastructure for pre-silicon system validation across CPU, GPU, and AI platforms.
What we're looking for
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred.
A Master's degree is preferred.
Experience in functional modeling, virtual platform development, simulation frameworks, firmware enablement, or pre-silicon modeling environments.
Strong C++ software development skills within modeling, systems software, firmware infrastructure, or platform-level environments.
Knowledge of SoC and platform architecture, including memory hierarchies, coherency mechanisms, and high-speed interconnects like PCIe, CXL, AXI, CHI, ACE, UCIe, HBM, and DDR.
Experience developing, integrating, or validating functional models, device models, virtual platforms, or modeling APIs.
Familiarity with virtual platform technologies such as SystemC/TLM-2.0, Arm Fast Models, Simics, QEMU, or similar frameworks.
Knowledge of test planning, regression infrastructure, validation methodologies, and CI/CD automation.
