As a Senior System Engineer, ModSim, Joint Simulation Environment (JSE), you will join the Systems Engineering team to support the development and deployment of advanced mission autonomy systems. You will be responsible for red-teaming designs, building models and simulations to validate or break claims, and providing Model Based Systems Engineering and Requirements Based Testing artifacts. Your daily work involves collaborating with Program Management, Mission Software Engineers, and Operations Analysts while communicating complex data results to stakeholders. The role requires expertise in MODSIM environments like AFSIM or JSE, as well as proficiency in SysML, DoDAF, UAFP, and tools like Cameo MagicDraw. You will utilize skills in requirements analysis, system design, and physics-math scripting using MATLAB, Simulink, or Python to solve complex engineering problems within the domain of autonomous airpower systems and DoD weapon systems.
Red-team designs, models, and analyses across various programs.
Build models and simulations to prove or break specific technical claims.
Create Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts for product development and sustainment.
Write and own systems-level requirements for complex defense systems.
Perform requirements analysis and system design within a government context.
Conduct failure analysis and adversarial reviews to identify overlooked problems.
Communicate complex results through high-quality visual data presentations to stakeholders.
What we're looking for
Must possess and be able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, computer science, or a similar engineering or technical field.
8+ years of Systems Engineering experience across the full lifecycle.
Experience with MODSIM environments such as AFSIM or JSE and understanding of their interfaces.
Proficiency in requirements analysis, system design, and writing systems-level requirements in a government context.
Experience with SysML, DoDAF, UAFP, and creating Model Based Systems Engineering artifacts like activity diagrams and BDDs.
Experience with Cameo MagicDraw or similar systems engineering software such as Rhapsody or SparxEA.
Strong communication skills including the visual presentation of complex data to stakeholders (preferred); proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, or Python (preferred).
