Senior Specialist, Systems Test Engineer joins the Communication Systems segment to support system-level integration, verification, troubleshooting, qualification, and compliance activities for complex electronic and communications systems. This role focuses on EMC-Features by applying engineering rigor to requirements interpretation, verification planning, test readiness, and technical execution across the product lifecycle. The individual will develop verification plans, test procedures, and compliance matrices while coordinating laboratory and system-level testing. Key responsibilities include investigating hardware issues related to interference, grounding, shielding, cabling, and packaging to mitigate risks. The role requires expertise in electromagnetics, RF, signal integrity, and standards-based qualification testing within regulated environments like aerospace or avionics. Candidates must possess strong technical documentation skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers while managing multiple concurrent priorities to ensure successful program milestones and meet critical customer requirements for mission-critical systems.
Perform system-level integration, verification, troubleshooting, and qualification for complex electronic and communication systems.
Translate customer and system requirements into executable verification plans and test procedures.
Develop and maintain technical documentation including compliance matrices, test reports, and verification plans.
Coordinate laboratory and subsystem-level test activities from pre-test planning through post-test issue resolution.
Investigate and resolve technical issues related to interference, grounding, shielding, and cabling during the product lifecycle.
Provide technical input for design reviews, risk assessments, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions.
Interface with internal and external organizations regarding technical readiness, results, and discrepancies.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to standard work and process improvements across the team.
What we're looking for
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or related field with 6 years of experience, or Graduate Degree with 4 years of experience.
Minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience supporting system test, integration, verification, qualification, production, or sustainment for complex electronic or communication systems (preferred).
Experience interpreting requirements and developing verification plans, test procedures, and compliance matrices (preferred).
Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and performing root-cause investigations in multidisciplinary environments (preferred).
Familiarity with EMC-F principles, including grounding, shielding, cabling, and signal integrity (preferred).
