JOB TITLE: Senior Specialist, Information Security Systems Engineer
The Senior Specialist, Information Security Systems Engineer joins the team to apply systems security engineering methods to the architecture, design, development, evaluation, and integration of networks and systems. This role involves working closely with government customers to define security requirements and implement protections throughout the system development lifecycle. Key responsibilities include conducting trade studies, performing attack/countermeasure analysis, and preparing Certification and Accreditation documentation using RMF, DOD 8510, JSIG, ICD-503, and CNSSI 1253 standards. The position requires expertise in encryption technology, vulnerability analysis, and NIST 800-160. Candidates should possess skills in ACAS, SCC, Splunk, Windows, Linux, and DevSecOps tools. The work focuses on protecting Critical Program Information and ensuring security authorization for platform IT systems and embedded systems.
Lead the development and implementation of System Security Engineering throughout the entire System Development Lifecycle.
Prepare Certification and Accreditation documentation using RMF standards to achieve security authorization for supported systems.
Draft Program Protection Plans, Cybersecurity Strategies, Security Classification Guides, and System Security Engineering Plans.
Assess systems for Critical Program Information (CPI) and conduct threat assessments via attack/countermeasure analysis.
Engineer trustworthy and secure systems in accordance with NIST 800-160 and NIST 800-53 standards.
Interact with customers to define security requirements, solutions, costs, and system impacts.
Conduct verification and validation activities to ensure security architecture improvements and vulnerability responses.
Support the identification and protection of CPI using DoD 5200.39 guidelines.
What we're looking for
Must possess a minimum of a Collateral Secret security clearance.
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of relevant experience, a Graduate Degree and 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD 8140 certification (or NIST 800-181) within 6 months of start.
Experience in Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation and authorization (A&A) processes, including RMF steps 1-4 and BoE package development.
Experience with Program Protection and System Security Engineering throughout the System Development Lifecycle.
Experience with DoD 5200.39 for identification and protection of Critical Program Information (CPI).
Experience with A&A package processing and RMF accreditation of Platform IT (PIT) systems (preferred).
