What you'll do

Drive technical initiatives at the intersection of news publishing workflows, A/B experimentation, and data-informed product decisions.
Design and implement infrastructure and validation systems for data models within simulation platforms and application ecosystems.
Build and scale applications and infrastructure supporting CNN use cases and evolving product needs.
Mentor and develop junior engineers through hands-on guidance, code reviews, and training initiatives.
Contribute end-to-end from technical planning and design to development, code reviews, and deployment.
Communicate proactively on progress, risks, and blockers to ensure alignment with stakeholders.
Provide technical leadership and guidance during Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Improve site performance and build scalable features for high-traffic user experiences.

What we're looking for

BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
6+ years of experience with modern JavaScript (ES6+).
4+ years of full-stack development experience with Node.js and client-server applications.
3+ years of hands-on experience applying site performance best practices in production environments.
Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
Hands-on experience with system design, architecture, and AWS services like IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, EKS, Lambda, and Route53.
Experience with data storage technologies (SQL/NoSQL), CI/CD tools, and infrastructure tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Python/Go/Rust experience as a plus (preferred).
