What you'll do

Develop and maintain the web-based JavaScript player for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.
Optimize player performance for resource-constrained platforms including browsers, televisions, and gaming consoles.
Create and review architecture and technical designs for streaming features.
Lead strategies for deployment quality, stability, testing, and telemetry approaches.
Develop and maintain project build systems and continuous integration pipelines.
Provide technical expertise and mentorship to other engineers on the team.
Identify, research, and address complex issues within the existing codebase.
Drive high development standards and technical direction for the media engineering team.

What we're looking for

BS or BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience.
Highly fluent in JavaScript and web technologies.
Experience developing for web browsers and other web-based client devices.
Experience in streaming technologies such as HLS (preferred), DASH, DRM (PlayReady or Widevine), or Adaptive Bitrate Streaming Algorithms.
Experience developing and optimizing high-performance client-side media applications.
Experience using build runners and compilation tools for multi-platform projects.
Experience developing for living room devices, gaming consoles, or Android devices (preferred).
