Optimize algorithms based on EO/IR sensor phenomenology such as noise characteristics, SNR, and environmental effects.
Build physics-based models and conduct Monte Carlo analysis or hardware-in-the-loop testing to validate performance.
Create tools to evaluate algorithm performance under conditions like countermeasures and degraded sensing environments.
Collaborate with software engineers to transition prototype algorithms into production-ready code for deployment.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers on signal processing best practices.
What we're looking for
Must possess and be able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and testing signal processing algorithms for EO/IR sensors or similar modalities in aerospace or defense systems.
Proven expertise in EO/IR sensor phenomenology including noise characteristics, detection theory, SNR analysis, resolution limits, and environmental effects.
Proficiency in signal processing techniques such as detection algorithms, filtering, and measurement generation from sensor data.
Proficiency in algorithm development and coding with experience transitioning algorithms to production environments.
Experience with modeling, simulation, and testing workflows including physics-based modeling, Monte Carlo analysis, or hardware-in-the-loop environments.
Demonstrated technical leadership experience with the ability to mentor engineers and drive technical direction.
