TL;DR · Senior Scientist, Antibody Repertoire Sequencing & Discovery

Senior Scientist, Antibody Repertoire Sequencing & Discovery will join the Molecular Core team within the Biotherapeutics and Genetics Medicine department. This role focuses on optimizing and expanding antibody repertoire sequencing capabilities to support therapeutic antibody discovery for immunology, neurology, and oncology diseases. The successful candidate will develop innovative methods for RepSeq, AIRR-Seq, and BCR-Seq while collaborating with computational scientists to integrate machine learning and generative design into the discovery pipeline. Key responsibilities include managing bulk and 10X sequencing data, performing molecular biology techniques like PCR and Gibson Assembly, and utilizing tools such as PipeBio, Geneious, and Sequencher. The role requires deep expertise in immunoglobulin genetics, B cell biology, and Next-generation Sequencing platforms including Illumina and PacBio to solve complex challenges in identifying and expanding hit candidates for therapeutic targets.

What you'll do

  • Act as a technical expert in antibody repertoire sequencing for therapeutic antibody discovery and hit expansion.
  • Optimize and expand antibody repertoire sequencing capabilities using bulk, 10X, and other proprietary platforms.
  • Collaborate with computational scientists to integrate machine learning and generative design into antibody discovery workflows.
  • Generate, document, and archive high-quality repertoire data with appropriate metadata for team access.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental results by reviewing relevant literature and presenting findings at team meetings.
  • Develop original technical ideas and research strategies for antibody repertoire sequencing and analysis.
  • Improve and streamline existing laboratory processes to maintain industry-leading standards.

What we're looking for

  • BS, MS, or PhD in immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Experience for PhD holders, 8-10+ for MS holders, or 10-12+ for BS holders.
  • Extensive scientific expertise in immunoglobulin genetics, antibody biology, and B cell biology.
  • Extensive technical expertise in the isolation and molecular biology of antibody variable region genes for NGS.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques including PCR, primer design, cloning, and plasmid design.
  • Understanding of NGS platforms such as Illumina (NextSeq, MiSeq) and PacBio.
  • Fluency in computational science and familiarity with predictive AI/ML tools and protein language models.
  • Experience in non-human immunogenetics, bioinformatics analysis of large datasets, or mammalian cell culture (preferred).
