TL;DR · Senior Scientist I/II, Precision Medicine Translational Research Immunology

Senior Scientist I/II, Precision Medicine Translational Research Immunology joins the Precision Medicine Immunology department to lead clinical biomarker discovery and drug development programs for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. This individual will design and execute complex genomic profiling experiments, including single-cell RNA-Seq, CITE-Seq, and spatial transcriptomics or proteomics to understand drug mechanism of action and pharmacodynamics. The role involves developing computational pipelines for multi-omics integration, performing image analysis for tissue-based assays, and validating novel scientific methodologies. Key technical requirements include expertise in CosMx, Xenium, and Visium platforms, alongside proficiency in R, Python, and machine learning frameworks. Candidates must also navigate AWS cloud architectures and high-performance computing environments to process large-scale genomic data while utilizing Visiopharm and HALO for quantitative biological insights across dermatology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, and fibrosis therapeutic areas.

What you'll do

  • Lead the design, execution, and analysis of complex genomic profiling experiments including single-cell RNA-Seq and CITE-Seq.
  • Perform image analysis for spatial transcriptomics and proteomics datasets, including cell segmentation and phenotyping.
  • Develop and implement computational pipelines to process and analyze spatial omics data.
  • Identify technical artifacts, interpret quality control results, and optimize assay performance to ensure high-quality data delivery.
  • Evaluate and validate novel scientific methodologies in the fields of single-cell and spatial genomics.
  • Communicate complex scientific findings and work plans to cross-functional stakeholders through formal reports and verbal updates.
  • Drive data-informed patient selection strategies and identify clinical biomarkers for drug development programs.

What we're looking for

  • For Senior I, a Bachelor's requires 10 years of experience, a Master's requires 8 years, and a PhD requires no experience.
  • For Senior II, a B.S. requires 12+ years, an M.S. requires 10+ years, or a Ph.D. with 4+ years of industrial biotechnology experience.
  • Candidates must have a degree in bioinformatics, immunology, cell and molecular biology, pathology, or other relevant biological sciences.
  • Extensive experience is required in designing and conducting single-cell and spatial omics studies to validate biomarker hypotheses.
  • Technical expertise is required in molecular and cell biology assays, specifically scRNA-seq and CITE-seq.
  • Expertise is required in CosMx, Xenium, and Visium platforms integrated with IHC and ISH techniques.
  • Proficiency is required in R, Python, and advanced image analysis platforms like Visiopharm and HALO.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud architecture and high-performance computing (HPC) environments for large-scale genomic data is required.
