Senior Product Engineer

What you'll do

• Propose and challenge roadmap items to shape the product direction rather than just implementing tickets.
• Turn ambiguous problems into defined work by writing stories and sharpening requirements.
• Design, develop, and deploy full-stack applications including accessible UIs, GraphQL APIs, and Node.js microservices.
• Build WCAG 2.2-compliant user interfaces using semantic HTML, ARIA, and keyboard navigation.
• Run discovery spikes and prototypes to test feasibility before committing to full implementations.
• Build and maintain the shared AI-accelerated development tools and skills used by the engineering team.
• Optimize application performance and security using techniques like lazy loading, OAuth2, and JWT.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests following test-driven development principles.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on full-stack web development.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with React, and at least 2 years of experience developing back-end services with Node.js.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs using Apollo Server.
• At least 1 year of experience building and deploying microservices in a production environment.
• Proven experience applying TDD to deliver high-quality code using frameworks such as Vitest, Jest, or Playwright.
• Strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 success criteria, semantic HTML, ARIA patterns, and assistive technology testing.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
