Senior Network Operations Engineer
As a Senior Network Operations Engineer, you will join the Global Network Operations Center team to monitor, troubleshoot, and mitigate complex network events while driving continuous operational improvements for global infrastructure. You will manage incident lifecycles, perform root-cause analyses, and develop automated solutions to reduce manual effort and enhance reliability. The role involves coordinating with vendors, mentoring junior engineers, and leading technical initiatives such as runbook audits and project delivery. Essential skills include proficiency in Python, Puppet, SQL, Ansible, and database management. You will work with technologies including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, VPNs, and TLS across Juniper, Cisco, Arista, and NVIDIA hardware. The role addresses the critical challenge of maintaining a high-performing, resilient global network supporting cloud services, specifically involving GPU, RDMA, and High-Performance Computing environments.
Monitor and troubleshoot network events to identify, triage, and mitigate incidents affecting global infrastructure.
Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) and document findings to prevent recurring issues and improve service reliability.
Develop scripts and automation tools using Python or Ansible to reduce manual effort and streamline routine tasks.
Manage circuit operations including troubleshooting fiber, optical, and WAN failures across multiple carriers and vendors.
Lead technical initiatives such as updating runbooks, methods of procedure (MOPs), and team onboarding materials.
Coordinate with third-party suppliers and internal teams to manage escalations and resolve complex network faults.
Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 incident response and support for critical infrastructure.
Mentor junior engineers and lead representation in vendor meetings and governance boards.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree (preferred).
3 to 5+ years of relevant network operations or engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, VPNs, and TLS.
Hands-on experience with at least three of: Juniper, Cisco, Arista, InfiniBand, NVIDIA, firewalls, routers, switches, circuit management, or optical services.
Experience in a large ISP, cloud provider, or complex enterprise network environment.
Proficiency in Python, Puppet, SQL, Ansible, and network automation (preferred).
