The Senior Network Operations Engineer joins the Global Network Operations Center team to maintain and optimize the infrastructure supporting global cloud services. You will monitor network events, triage incidents, and perform root-cause analysis to ensure high availability and performance. Daily responsibilities include implementing network changes, mentoring junior engineers, and developing automated solutions to reduce manual effort. You will utilize Python, Puppet, SQL, Ansible, and various networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, VPNs, and TLS. Technical expertise with Juniper, Cisco, Arista, InfiniBand, and firewalls is required. You will also support GPU, RDMA, and high-performance computing environments, managing complex network lifecycle projects and troubleshooting issues across large-scale ISP and cloud provider infrastructures.
Monitor and troubleshoot network events to identify, triage, and mitigate incidents.
Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) and coordinate follow-up actions with internal teams and vendors.
Develop scripts and automation tools using Python, Ansible, or Puppet to reduce manual operational work.
Plan, implement, and execute network changes using established procedures and operational tooling.
Provide on-call support and participate in major incident calls to resolve complex network issues.
Lead technical initiatives including the development of runbooks, methods of procedure (MOPs), and onboarding materials.
Mentor junior network engineers and participate in the hiring and training of new team members.
Forecast infrastructure demand and proactively design solutions to ensure network reliability and scalability.
What we're looking for
Must have 8 years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure management, or a related field.
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure management.
Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure management.
Must have a Doctorate in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Must have 3 years of experience in automation.
Must have 3 years of experience in programming and/or scripting.
Must have strong knowledge of networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, VPNs, and TLS.
Must have broad hands-on experience with at least three of the following: Juniper, Cisco, Arista, InfiniBand, firewalls, routers, switches, circuit management, and optical/network transport services.
Must have experience in a large ISP, cloud provider, or similarly complex enterprise network environment.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Cisco, Arista, and Juniper certifications are desirable (preferred).
Experience supporting GPU and RDMA network environments is highly desirable (preferred).
Experience supporting high-performance computing (HPC) environments is highly desirable (preferred).
Experience with InfiniBand and NVIDIA networking technologies is highly desirable (preferred).
Preferred experience with Python, Puppet, SQL, Ansible, network automation, and databases (preferred).
