Senior Network Operations Engineer - Nashville TN joins the Global Network Operations Center team to maintain and optimize the infrastructure supporting global services. This role involves monitoring network events, triaging incidents, performing root-cause analysis, and developing automated solutions to reduce manual effort. You will manage fault detection, coordinate with vendors, and lead technical initiatives like runbook updates and project delivery. The position requires expertise in networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, VPNs, and TLS. Candidates should have experience with Juniper, Cisco, Arista, and InfiniBand hardware, alongside familiarity with GPU, RDMA, and high-performance computing environments. Monitor, triage, and mitigate network events while performing root-cause analysis to ensure high availability.

Lead technical initiatives including the creation of runbooks, methods of procedure (MOPs), and training materials.
Provide on-call support and participate in major incident calls to resolve complex network issues.
Perform capacity forecasting and infrastructure design to ensure systems meet performance requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and lead team efforts in improving operational processes and tools.
What we're looking for
Must have 8 years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure management, or a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience, or a Master's degree plus 2 years.
Must have at least 3 years of experience in automation and 3 years of experience in programming and/or scripting.
Proficiency in networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, VPNs, and TLS is required.
Must have hands-on experience with at least three of: Juniper, Cisco, Arista, firewalls, routers, switches, or optical/network transport services.
Experience in large ISP, cloud provider, or complex enterprise network environments is required.
Ability to perform incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and technical escalation in a 24/7 network operations setting.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, Puppet, Ansible, and other automation tools is preferred.
Experience with GPU, RDMA, InfiniBand, or high-performance computing (HPC) environments is highly desirable.
